PM Orders Mishti to Resign as MP Over Involvement in Radda Vandalism

Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has directed Ferdousi Ahmed Mishti to resign from her position as Member of Parliament over allegations of her involvement in the vandalism at the Radda MCH-FP Center. The directive came after allegations surfaced linking her to the attack, vandalism, and looting at the center in Mirpur.
Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon confirmed the matter to Dhaka Post on Thursday (October 1) afternoon.
The attack, vandalism, and looting at the Radda MCH-FP Center, located in Mirpur-1 in the capital, occurred late at night on September 24. The health center's structure was later demolished as well. Allegations of Ferdousi Ahmed Mishti's involvement in the incident subsequently emerged. However, she has denied any involvement in the attack.
Meanwhile, regarding the attack on the Radda center, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said on Wednesday that no one would be spared if investigations establish their involvement.
Amid this incident, several organizational measures have also been taken at the BNP level. On Wednesday, the 51-member convening committee of Dhaka Mahanagar Uttar BNP was dissolved. Simultaneously, the committee of Dhaka Mahanagar Uttar Jubo Dal was also declared dissolved. Organizational action has also been taken against several leaders at various levels of BNP and its affiliated organizations.
