Dugra

Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of Hindus, has begun at the Chota Kali Temple in North Kattali, Chittagong, with prayers for building a healthy and beautiful society by overcoming the dilemma of human faces and masks. Today, on Maha Shasthi, the rituals of Bodhon, Amontron, and Adhibas of Goddess Durga are being performed. Like every year, the Puja is being held in an atmosphere of deep religious devotion and social harmony.

According to the organizers, from Maha Shasthi through Maha Ashtami, Maha Nabami, and Bijoya Dashami, a series of religious rituals will take place alongside cultural programs and community service initiatives. With the participation of devotees and visitors, the temple premises are expected to glow with colors and lights. The organizers expressed their hope that through the worship of Goddess Durga, all evil forces will be destroyed and the light of truth and justice will shine across society.

Puja Committee President Shuvo Dutta said, 'Durga Puja is not just a religious festival; it is a symbol of our social unity and human consciousness. We want this festival to awaken truth, beauty, and positive energy within everyone’s heart.'

General Secretary Shawon Karmakar added, 'Every year, we try our best to ensure that the devotees who come here experience peace and joy. This year, we have designed our Puja Mandap with the theme of exploring the inner truth of human beings. At the same time, special attention has been given to safety and discipline. A volunteer team, formed with the support of local residents, is working actively, while members of the law enforcement agencies are also providing assistance.'
