Former Additional GP Amin Remembered on 26th Death Anniversary

Today marks the 26th death anniversary of eminent lawyer and former Additional Government Pleader of Chattogram, Muhammad Amin Chowdhury.
He passed away on January 29, 2000, at the age of 53 while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka. Over a legal career spanning nearly 27 years, Muhammad Amin Chowdhury earned a reputation for professional integrity and commitment to justice.
He was the eldest son of renowned historian, Chattalitattva scholar, and Ekushey Padak–winning researcher Abdul Haq Chowdhury. Alongside his legal practice, he remained actively engaged in social and humanitarian work.
To mark the anniversary, a Khatm-e-Quran has been arranged today at the mosque adjacent to his family graveyard in Noajishpur.
Muhammad Amin Chowdhury also played a significant role in various social and cultural organizations. He served as President of the Rotary Club of Metropolitan, Chittagong, for the 2000–01 term and was directly involved with institutions including the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, Muslim Education Society, and NATAB, among others.
