Chinese technology brand Xiaomi has launched its new 5G smartphone, the Redmi 17 5G, in the Bangladesh market, featuring a large battery, fast charging and a 120Hz display.

The smartphone comes with a 7,500mAh battery and supports 45W turbo charging. Xiaomi Bangladesh says the device is designed to offer fast internet connectivity, extended battery life and strong performance.

The Redmi 17 5G features a 6.9-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and carries an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes.

Powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor, the handset runs on Xiaomi's HyperOS 3 operating system.

For photography, the phone has a 50-megapixel primary camera on the rear and an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies.

Ziauddin Chowdhury, country general manager of Xiaomi Bangladesh, said the launch of the Redmi 17 5G would further strengthen the company's 5G portfolio.

He said the company believes 5G technology should not remain limited to premium smartphones but should be accessible to a wider range of consumers.

The device is available in two colour options: Black and Vivid Orange. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at Tk 31,999.

Customers can purchase the smartphone from Xiaomi's authorised stores and retail partners across Bangladesh.
