Community Medical Camp Benefits Hundreds in North Kattali

Community Medical Camp

A free medical and eye care camp was organized in North Kattali of Chattogram city marking the Dol Jatra of Lord Krishna. The initiative was held as part of the 23rd Universal Grand Religious Assembly and the eight-prohor (round-the-clock) Mahanam Sankirtan program. A total of 630 people received services at the camp.

The day-long program took place on Monday (March 2) at the Sebakhola Temple premises in North Kattoli and was arranged by the Sri Sri Sebakhola and Baikunthadham Festival Celebration Committee. Visitors were provided with general health checkups, eye treatment, and necessary medicines free of cost.

Medical services were delivered with the participation of the Lions Charitable Eye Hospital and the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, Chattogram District Unit. Albion Laboratories Limited supported the initiative by supplying medicines.

Biplab Dey, Executive General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Sri Sri Janmashtami Celebration Council Bangladesh, attended the event as the chief guest. He said that humanitarian activities centered around religious festivals help strengthen social harmony, adding that standing beside underprivileged people is the true essence of human service.

The program was chaired by Salil Sen, Convener of Sri Sri Sebakhola and Baikunthadham. Among others present were Dr. Shabana Sultana, Deputy Director of Lions Charitable Eye Hospital; Dr. Mukta Chowdhury, Senior Medical Officer of Chattogram Red Crescent Hospital; and advisor Subodh Ranjan. Speakers at the event also included Anton Das, Iqbal, Jewel Shil, Biraj Mani Acharya, and Ashish Das, along with other guests.
