West Indies Wins the Toss
Bangladesh will field first in the second and final Test against the West Indies after losing the toss at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday (November 5). West Indies captain Roston Chase won the toss and elected to bat.
The match is crucial for Bangladesh, who lost the opening Test in Mirpur and are trailing 1-0 in the two-match series. A victory in Sylhet is necessary for the hosts to level the series.
Bangladesh have made two changes to their playing XI. Experienced batter Mushfiqur Rahim has returned in place of Mominul Haque, who suffered a head injury while fielding during the first Test. Under concussion replacement rules, Mominul is unavailable for the second Test.
Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed has also returned to the side, replacing left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam. Bangladesh have retained their combination of two fast bowlers and three spinners.
The West Indies have also made two changes. Opener John Campbell and Tagenarine Chanderpaul have been ruled out due to viral fever. Wicketkeeper-batter Joshua Da Silva has come into the side, while Kevin Wickham is set to make his Test debut.
Bangladesh XI: Shadman Islam, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Najmul Hossain Shanto (captain), Towhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Das (wicketkeeper), Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nayeem Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Taijul Islam and Hasan Mahmud.
West Indies XI: Joshua Da Silva, Brandon King, Kevin Wickham, Kavem Hodge, Aamir Jangoo (wicketkeeper), Roston Chase (captain), Justin Greaves, Joshua Bishop, Shamar Joseph, Jomel Warrican and Jayden Seales.
